A Multi-Split system takes the idea of a split system, and adds multiple outlets in multiple rooms. Such a system can air condition from two to seven rooms using only one outdoor unit. It is a compromise between ducting (which requires duct channels to be installed in the dwelling or office) and a conventional split system, which can only condition a single room or area. Multi-Split systems are ideal for situations where there is limited space for outdoor units or insufficient ceiling space for ducting. These systems allow individual control of the air conditioning in each room. This not only optimises comfort but saves on running costs as waste is eliminated by only air conditioning rooms as and when required.
